A great team!
"Guilin Hiking" is a partner project of the local Guilin "Sunny Hiker" hiking group and the "laowai" Team of Guilin Expat. We work together to build a bridge between the local population and the foreigners working/ living or traveling in Guilin and to explore more of the world around us. Our tours are selected with regards to security, natural beauty and historic/ cultural attractions to make sure that everybody has a good time.
About "Sunny Hiker"
The "Sunny Hiker" hiking group was founded in May 2007 by a group of local Guilinese. The main goal is one the one hand to explore the area around Guilin and stay fit and healthy on the other hand. Guilin's hinterland features is full of natural beauty and little, sometimes ancient, villages roads and buildings. We try to avoid the crowded, commercialised places and concentrate on the less known, less traveled roads.
Sunny Hiker is a non-for-profit group, meaning that we do not charge for our tours. The team member however have to pay themselves for food and transportation (mostly public). We also plan our hiking lines well in advance to make sure that nothing can go wrong.
About Guilin Expat
Guilin Expat is the first and only english speaking info-hub for living and surviving in Guilin. While Guilin is a major tourism destination in China, it has only a small expat population. If you come here on your own you might live your life for weeks without meeting another expat. The main purpose of this site is to connect Guilin Expats together, inform about expat related events, and collect all the accumulated expat experience into one place.
